Roadway excavations and roadway embankments for highways and associated items of work. Earthwork includes all types of materials excavated and placed in the embankment, including soil, granular material, rock, shale, and random material.
Typical earthworks include road construction, railway beds, causeways, dams, levees, canals, and berms. Other typical earthworks are land grading to reconfigure the topography of a site or to stabilize the slope
